TAA East Anglia welcomes members and friends to join a visit to the Walpole Farm, near Kings Lynn, Norfolk. This impressive enterprise is engaged in production of a wide range of soft fruit and planting materials. They sell these in the UK and to international markets. They have strong research links to UK horticultural research institutes. Mid-April is a good time to visit, when focus shifts from planting materials (Nov-March) to fruit production (May onwards).
We will be able to see and learn about their: •
- Company structure and growth for UK and international markets, including Brexit challenges, and activity in the tropics/subtropics (Mexico, E Africa, Morocco etc) markets.
- Production of planting materials.
- Production of fruit for PYO and wholesale markets, including packaging.
- R&D links, including NIAB EMR and Rothamsted (institutional members of TAA).
